Link Up aims to provide a real work environment for adults with learning disabilities to develop individual member's potential within a sheltered work skills unit based at The Slater Centre on New Greenham Park.
Link Up is a joint project between West Berkshire Mencap, West Berkshire Council and Newbury College.
Link Up caters for 30 adults per day, where the trainees work with staff to complete 'real work for real customers' alongside working with college staff to complete their pre-NVQ certificates.
Link Up also is a restricted access UK Online Centre which provides our trainees with the opportunity to use computers and access the internet with staff support.
Link-Up also has a Job Coach, who offers support and guidance to adults with a learning disability in non sheltered work placements, from hotel work to car washing.
Link Up does a variety of jobs for customers that include mail shots, packaging, light assembly and shrink wrapping.
Link Up is able to offer competitive quotes for work carried out and all work is quality checked by Link up staff. For more information and a free competitive quote please visit our website at www.link-up-project.org.uk or contact Jane Hall.
