After ten years of successful trading, the Mencap Charity Shop on the corner of Bartholomew Street and Pound Street has unfortunately had to close. A combination of increasing rent and increasing competition has led us to the very sad but necessary decision to close the shop.

We would like to thank our regular customer base whose eyes for a bargain have contributed a significant amount to the Society over the years.

And we would like most especially to thank the magnificent team of volunteers, our manager and Edna Wall, who gave so much of her time to the project.

We are also grateful to all those who have donated goods for sale in the shop over the years.
